lsass.exe system error when start up...please help!!!

My mom's computer has been having problems for a long time now. It runs on XP
home edition. I've had a few people look at it and all said to do a system
recovery. which I did. Now when I try to boot up it says lsass.exe system
error then something about an invalid password. Then it restarts and repeats
this over and over again. My mom has no discs for XP. Is there anything I
can do to get her computer to start up again?
