Hi I am getting the LSA Shell has an error and must close. Then the
NT SYSTEM gives me sixty seconds in a window before the
computer restarts. This window says "The system process
lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code -
073741819. The system will now shut down and restart."
I have a firewall I have PC-Cillin 2004 and I have no virus,s I have checked
and then checked over and over again is is not msblaster or sasser I am sure
it is a windows problem but dont know what has any 1 got any ideas please..
Cheers John.
PS: I have all the updates and have use microsofts tools to check for sasser
and all it is not a worm that I can say.

lsass.exe is a legimate windows xp service, but there is
maleware that has the same name. I would run spybot and
then hyjackthis to remove the startup entrie of
lsass.exe. No windows service ever starts here.

You can get it with spybot free at :

http://www.net-integration.net/index.php?
page=spybotsd#clean

I suggest you run the spybot scan. It will run awhile.
WHen finished ,clean recommended. Some entries will be in
memory. The program ask if you would like to fix at next
boot up. Reply yes

It has an automatic backup so you can restore fixes.

You'll also need to remove startup registry items also.
Highjackthis is available free at:

http://www.net-integration.net/index.php?

Run the scan and under 04 entries remove lsass.exe
