I have developed a problem wherein I get an error on bootup from lsass.exe
that a password is not being supplied. When I acknowledge this error, the
computer immediately tries to reboot, I get another error, ... well, you get
the picture. I have tried safe mode, error logging mode, etc. with no joy.
I even rebooted from the XP CD and tried to do a repair operation. If I can
only get booted up, I can restore my OS to an earlier date that worked, and
try to find out what happened by looking at the files the restore program
renames, but that is kinda hard to do when this nonsense is happening. Have
I been hacked, or what?
My next option is to reinstall XP from scratch, deleting the current
partition, unless anyone has a better suggestion.
Thanks,
