This is the most frustrating thing. After setup
completes and restarts, a dialog box pops up
saying "lsass.exe not enough memory to meet quota" then
the computer restarts. Going into recovery console
doesnt work, safe mode does the same thing. the system
ultimatly has to be reformated. I have to upgrade three
pc's, is there any way to get rid of this?

Try installing xp pro cd,restart computer, boot to cd,select install xp fro
the info page, select, delete current partition OS,create new, then let it install xp pro
This way, home is deleted and a new copy of xp is installed on reformatted hd
Pro doesnt upgrade from home very well,a clean install does.

Sounds like Sasser virus.

buffer overrun error. just in case, run some antivirus s/w to see if this
is the case.

ciao
