lsass.exe - Application Error (System is shutting down.)

Hello,

I started getting this error message: isass.exe -
Application Error "The instruction at "0x0900090"
referenced memory at "0x0900090". The memory could not
be "read."

Then, the System Shutdown form appears: "This system is
shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log
off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was
initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM."

The system process 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe'
terninated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819. The
system will now shut down and restart.

Can someone explain this error to me -- and point me in
the direction of fixing the issue?

also, go to Start, Run, type SHUTDOWN -A (after you
receive the message you referenced) to prevent the
impending shutdown.
