can anyone explain how to fix this problem the disk drive
shows as no conflicts and as a high capacity drive it
reads normal floppys fine but doesnt recognize LS-120
diskettes and says they are unformatted and only gives 740

Maybe a stupid advise:
Scrap the LS120 drives and buy a few of these USB drives.

- Did the drive ever work correctly under W2k? If not, and you upgraded
to W2k from a priopr system where the drive was working correctly,
perhaps you need only make sure you have the latest W2k-specific driver
for the device. Drivers for earlier systems will not work correctly with
W2k for a great many devices.

i have searched for a wion2k specific driver for the drive
but only find that win2k is supposed to support it and
there are no drivers for win2k that i can find except for
the USB or Parallel port types of this device

Go to manufacturers site... They should have your drivers there.
What is the brand name?

Richard: Also, according to
<http://driversplanet.com/quick_search.asp?sString=LKM-F934-1&x=20&y=9>
"all problems fixed Windows 2000."

Clearly they expect the W2k driver library to provide support, as you say.

Matsushita/Panasonic asserts this in several places and apparently never
wrote a W2k-specific driver for this device (which is at or near its end
of life & I believe is no longer in production.) Oddly, the Panasonic
driver download page lists an XP driver; you might try that.

You might also try the MS website, on the chance that the required
driver is not in the original W2k package but has been released in some
subsequent service pack or other update which you have not installed.
Slim chance maybe, but what the heck.

Several sites (including the one above) speak to curious problems with
NT4 that smell a little bit like the one you're experiencing.
