Lower resources usage

P

Paulo Resende

Nowdays we all have many services/utilities that startup
when booting Windows, for example:
-Anti-virus
-Anti-spyware
-3th party firewall
-Motherboard sensors monitor
-3th party Bluetooth stack
-Audio card control panel
-Internet traffic shaper/monitors
-Automatic updates checkups from some app
-MSN Messenger, AIM, AOL,...
-CD/DVD-RW packet writing app
-Printer monitor
and so on...
That's alot of resouces and a slow boot time.
We all know that some programs are not very well coded in
respect of resource usage, many times is better for them
having programs looking good (visual) than having the job
well done. They could, for example, make their programs
more modular, better use of liberaries/controls and a
better cleanup and memory allocation.
I know that isn't MS fault, it's a general problem
nowdays (but very little focused), but for MSAS, I think
that she could make the example by lowering resouces
usage numbers.
In my case I have two process allways running:
gcasDtServ.exe (+-10MB)
gcasServ.exe (+- 7MB)
TOTAL (+-17MB)

Also, I hope that MSAS would be included/monitored in
Security Center.
