Low performance

MHi all,
i'm going crazy!! Well, after a year that I used my computer I had many problems like very slow boot or really low performance. Ok, I thought that it was the case to format. I did it and for 2 days all was ok. But now i have the same problems: slow boot, distorted sound, especially original xp welcome sound, and low performance.
It's like there is a process that take 100% cpu but if i check there is nothing.
I tried to check for viruses with Nav2004, NOD32, Avast Home, spyware with Ad-Aware, SpyBot, Pest Patrol but i found nothing.
For example I can watch a video in overlay mode, but vmr7 or 9 give me a lot of freezes. Icons appear really slow and also internet connection is not 100%.
Any suggestions?

My Computer:
Motherboard Biostar M7SXF P4 1700 256MB
Hard Disk IBM IC35L040AVVA07-0
Video Hercules 3d prophet 4500 tv-out
Modem usb alcatel speedtouch manta
Sat card Skystar2
dvd asus e-616
cd-rw lite-on 3240s
and of course Windows XP SP1 full updated

Please help me!!

P.s. Sorry for my english :))
