Low performance in Powerpoint 2007

I'm experiencing very low performance in Powerpoint 2007, mainly when using
images (JPEG, etc). It's a pain to change from one slide to the next one, and
it's almost impossible to edit text because it's too slow.
I've upgraded the BIOS, the video drivers, and selected a local installed
printer as default... but everything is slow still.
I've tried the same presentation in other computer, and no experienced the
performance problems.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the spec - did any of the links I provided help any?

e.g. have you installed a local printer driver?

cheers
