Low on virtual memory, error msg !!!

This is new clean install of W2K Pro.

Applications running : Outlook and IE (3 windows)
Checked Processes running, mostly under 5 Mb except msimn 10Mb & IE 60Mb.
Adding all, the total is less than the actual physical memory.

Why the "Low on virtual memory, W2K will increse paging file..." error ???

TIA

Control Panel|System|Advanced|Performance Options|Change to increase the
pagefile size.

It comes from either a hotpatch or you have removed the user "everyone" and
pagefile has to let NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM have full control of the root directory
and the directory it is located in to work properly.

You can try this KB first...
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=257758#appliesto

You have removed SYSTEM from the rights to the drive re add it and give it
full rights

hotpatch is most likely as I have not touched any SYSTEM access priviledges.
The only thing I did was restrict "ASPNET user" . One of these hotpatches
created during the numerous updates.

Do you think ASPNET restriction is the problem ?

PS: "Initial Size" and the "Maximum Size" values ARE the recommended values
for Windows 2000 (unchanged)

In my Zone Alarm firewall there are three applications I blocked:
1. Altnet sharing manager
2. AltnetInstaller
3. fsg_4104.exe

This was before I used spybot to clean parasites & spywares.

TIA
