Our ISP tols us to configure out Outlook to the internet mail as opposed to
the office group. I did this and lost all of my emails, contacts, and
everything else I need to work. also my short cuts on the side bar do not
work any more.

Have I lost everything or can I get it back?

Did they give you a reason? OL 2000 CW mode works just fine with Internet
Mail.

Reconfiguring to IMO mode has created a new mail profile that doesn't know
where your old data is. Click File>Open>Personal Folders File. It should
give you a browse window in the folder where your old data is. It will be
in a file whose extension is .pst. You should be able to select it and
click OK, then select its root (called "Personal Folders", most likely),
then click File>Properties, and set the delivery to that PST. After
stopping and restarting Outlook you should have your mail and contacts
back. To get your shortcuts back, with Outlook closed, I think you should
be able to delete the new FAV file the change created and rename the old FAV
file to have the same name as the new FAV file, then restart Outlook.

The locations for the Outlook data files can be found here:
