On the face of it, this doesn't sound like a good design. If these
different types of items all have the same set of fields in common as
you listed in your previous message, why aren't they in the same table?

Incidentally, it would probably have been a good idea to post this
followup message of yours as a reply to your original message. Then
they'd have been threaded together by the newsreader, and people could
see that they are related.
