Lost write access to laptop from server....

I have recently upgraded to SP2 on XP Pro.
I am using a Linksys wireless router. (Model WRK54g firmware 1.52)

Before I upgraded to SP 2, I could access server from the lap top and the
laptop from the server. Now, I can read/write access the the server from the
laptop, I can read the laptop from the server, but I can not write from the
server to the laptop. Server has NOT been upgraded yet.

I still have filesharing set to allow for modification. the "Windows
Firewall" is different that what I had before. I am not sure if I need to
"open a port" and if so, HOW do I do this and how do I know what port?

I do not know THAT much about network config, so.... detailed steps please..

In the firewall enable the exception for File and Printer
Sharing.
