Lost word doc from attachement in outlook

I opened a dord doc attached to an email and altered it and press save but
when I tried to find the saved file it only had the original file not the
changed file.?
 
You need to open the doc, and after editing, select 'Save As' to enable you
to save to specific location
 
Does that mean it did not save the file or is it hidden, as i would like to
recover that file
