Hi!!!
I have a small LAN with 60 clients, two DLINKs, and a NETGEAR. With
the NEATGEAR I restrict the access to the Internet so I only have 30
users with that privilege. These users have static IPs that range from
192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.30. The problem that I have recently is that
one of this IPs was stolen while it was in used. The way I realize it
was stolen was because the user couldn't send e-mails and when I
looked at the IP I noticed that instead of having its corresponding IP
(192.168.0.10) it had one out of the range with Internet privileges.
When I ping the IP it responded and I also know the Mac address;
however, I have no clue how to know where is it physically. Can anyone
help me to figure out where this IP is physically? And how it was
stolen taking in account that it was a static IP. Thank you in
advance,
