Lost Sound

I immediatly lost all sound after downloading and running Defender for the
first time. All the sound controls are on and none of the mute buttons are
selected. Any ideas what may have happened? Thanks.

try rebooting and see if sound comes back.
If not- uninstall WD and see if sound comes back.
If not- do a system restore 2days prior to this whole thing and see if sound
comes back

also make sure your speakers are on before you do this and also make sure
they are plugged in correctly in the back of the computer- you never know.

Do have a third party sound system installed (like Creative etc) or are you
just using the OS sound system?

ahh good point stu
Look in the sound settings and see which application is set to do the sound.
Try switching it to another application like the main Windows Sound applet
and see if sound comes back.
