I can't find my original product key; microsoft gave me 2
replacements that don't work. I need to reinstall xp, but
have no product key for it that will work.

Thank you, but I called them and the replacement keys did
not work. They refunded my money and said "sorry".

Hi
Here's a suggestion:
You could probably get the key number from your hard drive
by using Belarc Advisor to generate a computer profile.
My computer's profile shows that Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition is installed, and it gives the key number. You
can download the free Belarc Advisor here:

EXACTLY, what type of Windows XP CD are you using?
OEM, Retail or Volume License
Full, Upgrade
These various combinations as well as others have differences that
require a specific Product Key and they are NOT interchangeable.

I have an upgrade version/ academic version. I read the
cd to the tech guy and he still could not find a key that
worked.
