Lost outlook favourites shortcut

In outlook 2000 i have lost my favourites shortcut on the outlook bar. How
can I get it back?

You mean in the File, Edit, View, etc menu bar? You can add it back by going
to View-> Toolbars-> Customize...

No - I mean the shortcut icon on the outlook bar on the left side of the
screen has been deleted. I know to right click and choose add new outlook
bar shortcut but I don't know where to find the fvaourites folder.

That depends on your version of Windows. Assuming Windows XP;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Favorites
