Lost Option To Delete Groups Of Emails

Using Office 2003 and Outlook (exchange). I have several
users who have lost the ability to delete groups of email messages.
As an example, if you group by date, you will get a title bar for each
group of dates and the number of messages in that group.

On some machines, simply placing the focus on the title bar of a group and
selecting delete, the entire group of messages are deleted.

But on another group of machines, selecting delete does nothing (no errors or
any resulting action). Uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook has no impact
on the problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Any recent Outlook updates from
Microsoft that might have been pushed out to some groups of users and
not others?

What options do you have when you right click on the group header? It should
list the Delete action as well. Does this work for you?

Sorry, I forgot that info. None of the Delete options work - right click,
toolbar delete button or File | Delete.

But the option is listed in the right click menu? Tried resetting the view
already on the folder?

Thanks for the reply. I've tried changing the view, the sort order, grouping
but none make any difference. Yes, I do have the delete option on the right
click (not grayed out).

I've checked with the Exchange admin to make sure there weren't any profile
changes or changes to the domain groups. And because of the way we push out
updates, I'm sure that both working and non-working groups have received the
same sets of updates. ??

No update is involved here.

View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> Reset Current View

If that doesn't work locate outcmd.dat and rename it to .old when Outlook is
closed.

I really appreciate all the help. Neither of the suggestions worked. The
Reset Current View was grayed out. I deleted all instances of outcmd.dat and
emptied the Recycle Bin, but the behavior persists.
