Lost of Audio

Hi Guys

I am always having this problem with Windows XP SP2. Hope there is a
resolution to this.

The XP tends to refresh on its own and after that I wil not be able to use
my audio even though XP still detects the sound card and associated driver.
Even the task bar is changed to that similar to Windows 2000 rather than that
of the standard XP.

Not sure what's going on... Would appreciate if someone could shed some
light...

Well, XP really doesn't do that (for most of us), so maybe you are special.
Or maybe you are allowing a lot of automatic updates to your software, or
maybe you are not giving us enough information <g>

I have heard that automatic updates can nring about serious security problems
which is why I am always nakedly cruel to automatic updates. I am really mean
and truly narrow-minded.
