Goto >START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL> SYSTEM>HARDWARE>DEVICE MANAGER.
Scroll down until you come to "Sound, Video & Game Controllers" Click on the
"+" sign to the left of "Sound, Video & Game Controllers" and right clcik
on each SoundCard Listing. Press the DELETE Key on you keyboard until all
sound card listing are removed.
REBOOR your PC and let the system automatically reinstall the right drivers
for them.
After Rebooting, go back into the control panel and select "Sound and Audio
Devices", then dgo down to the "Program Events and select any of the listed
items under "Windows" and you should seee at this point the name of the
sound in the little box below. After select that particular event and seeing
the sound to be played,you should see that the "Right Arrow" has turned
black" and not grayed out. Once this is accoml;ished, you have your sounds
back, unless you have someth8ing else going on with your sound card, which
may for you to got into the control panel again and go to add hardware and
step through it until it list your sound card. Select the sound card at that
point and select NEXT, then it will tell you if the device is working
properly or not.
If this fails, I suggest you plug in your headset into the speaker port on
your sound card and see if any sound comes from the headset, if so, replace
your speakers.
