Lost My Music folder

Hello to all those that can help save me from an awful situation!

My iTunes stopped working recently when I moved the My Music folder onto an
external hard drive. Realising my stupidity, I promptly moved it back onto my
PC's hard drive, but unfortunately I am still faced with the same frustrating
message: "The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required.
The default location for this folder is insider the "My Music" folder." The
folder does exist in this location however.

After a bit of investigation, and consulting the helpful but not effective
Apple website, I have come to the conclusion that my operating system no
longer knows where My Music lives, or even that it exists, and so iTunes does
not know where to find it's precious folder (my main reason for thinking this
lies in that after downloading the Tweak UI powertoy from the Microsoft
Website, My Music does not appear on the special folders list, when it most
certainly should).

Something that you should know: the manufacturers of my PC cleverly thought
to partition my hard drive in two before shipping (which I find very annoying
and inconvenient), so all my personal files are saved in D:\My Documents\ ,
which is where I'd like iTunes to find My Music. This may have nothing to do
with the problem, but I thought it best to share just in case.

If anyone is able to shed a little light on how best to go about fixing this
awful mess I would greatly appreciate it, as I'm struggling to manage without
music in my life.

Many thanks,

S

what do you mean? I didn't have pictures in the folder. Just music. And the
Music folder and all of its contents were deleted.

When you delete something, it remains on your hard disk, and doesn't really
get destroyed unless your disk becomes full, and it needs the space for new
stuff. This seldom happens. Especially when you can buy gigabytes for only
about 50 cents each. So, all you have to know is how to recover that
stuff......I know the police know how, becaust they do it all the time on
Court (tru) TV.......I just don't know how to do it myself.....Call a
computer fix-it shop. |They will probably know.
