Lost my "most recently used" feature

I recently changed from Windows 2000 to Windows XP. Now I find that when I
click "Favorites," I see the whole (huge) list. Before I changed computers
and OSs, I would only see a list of 5 or 6 of my most recently used
favorites. How can I get this feature back? I've looked in Options
everywhere - can't find anything. HELP doesn't have anything under
"favorites" about this...

Might it be relevant that I copied my list of favorites from a backup? It
seems to work OK, apart from this problem.
