Lost "My documents" Desktop Icon

I still have the actual folder, but I don't know how to restore the "My Documents" icon on the desktop. I can create a shortcut, but that's a bandaid. Help. thanks.

Control Panel | Folder Options | View, check "Show My Documents on the
Desktop".
