I just installed xp again and did some downloads from Microsoft update and
now have no sound. I did have Intel Audio Studio but now it says I need the
Sonic Focus Drivers. I have no idea where to get them.

What happens when you download and install the WinXP-specific audio
drivers, as provided by your sound card's or computer's manufacturer?
Hint: They'll be on the drivers disk(s) that came with either the
computer, the motherboard, or the audio controller (if purchased
separately), or on support web site of the manufacturer of the computer,
the motherboard, or the audio controller, which ever applies.

That sure did not help.

What computer make and model is this ?

What motherboard make and model is used ?

Sound comes from thousands of different chips and
boards, and each has its own story. The more details
you give, the better the answer you get.

Your reference to Sonic Focus and Intel Audio Studio, suggest
you have an Intel motherboard. This table shows a complicated
mix of options. Knowing what equipment you've got, makes it
easier to figure out.
