Lost Microsoft Word

I am new at this so I hope my question makes sense. Somehow I have lost my
microsoft word. The only thing I have is my shortcut, and when I click on
that I get my registered notice and then my computer freezes up. I have the
cd's that came with my computer, but I don't know if they have word on them.
How do I get it back on my computer?
 
Have you tried double clicking on a Word do?

What do the disks that you have say?
 
Is the computer new? Check the CDs. You may only have had a trial, in which
case you will have to buy it. Or maybe you need to register Word. If it's not
registered it will stop working after about 30 uses.

If you need to buy you might also want to check out Open Office if you are
not eligible for the student edition at around £90/$150. Word's a pricey
piece of software otherwise.
