Hi Jan,
winhlp32.exe is the Windows Winhlp32 Stub.
*.hlp files open with winhlp32.exe. *.hlp files are Windows Help Files.
You can't open *.hlp files directly.
Locate a *.hlp file |
Right click the *.hlp file | Properties | General tab |
Opens with should be Windows Winhlp32 Stub.

Hi Wes
I tried this link and downloaded the fix but it hasn't made any
difference. I think this was if you could not access help from the start
menu but could still get it from elsewhere. Unfortunately, I can't seem
to get help in any programmes at all.
Thanks for trying

In Jan <janannholc(remove)@hotmail.com> hunted and pecked:
I seem to have lost a link to my help files.
If I click the "help and support" button on the start menu it does not
do anything. The same happens if I try to access help in any of the
programmes i.e word, access, money etc.,
I have checked the folder options for hlp and it say that it opens
with "windows winhlp32 stub" which I assume is correct.
I am using Windows XP Professional with SP2
Any help with this would be appreciated.
