Lost Internet Connection after Download

I am running Windows 2000, did the download for updates
and security patch. Following download I can no longer
connect to internet. I contacted my local internet service
provider, they cant figure it out as they show no problems
on their end. They heard from other customers that
similar problems were reported after downloading. 1) has
anyone had this problem? 2) if so do you know how to get
some answers from Microsoft to fix this problem?

I have the same problem!! And I can't get any support from
MS.
