lost in 2007

Hi,

I have just upgraded from Excel 2003 to 2007. I was disappointed to
realize that:

-my toolbar customizations were lost: Of course, toolbars are obsolete
in 2007, but I hoped that I could at least recover my custom buttons in
the Quick Access toolbar...Any comments?

-I have created lots of useful vba functions that I had regrouped in an
xla file placed in my XLstart folder so that they would be always
available. I have no idea how to achieve the same functionality in 2007.

-I also had a few custom functions in my personal.xls (in the XLStart
folder). I assume that it doesn't work any more in 2007 since none of my
custom functions are available.

Gee, and I'm supposed to migrate 3000 users this fall!!! I'd better find
workarounds for these issues or hire body guards...

Thanks,

Lo

Thanks Ron,

Do I need to open my former Personal.xls and save it in the new xlsb
format before it is functional in 2007? Is there a way to automate this?
I am going to upgrade 300 users...

Same question for users who created an xyz.xla file in their Xlstart
folder. Will their xyz file still work in 2007 or do they need to
convert it?

Thanks!

Lo

Absolutely not! I use the same Personal.xls for 4 versions of Excel
(2000-2007). Same for XLA add-ins.

Hi Jim,

Ok, I apologize, I said my Personal.xls and xyz.xla files were in my
XLstart folder. They were actually in a network folder, so that my
functions would be available no matter on which workstation I was
logged. Is there a way to achieve the same flexibility with 2007?

Thanks,

Lo

You should be able to designate a network folder in "At startup, open all
files in:" under Office menu, Excel Options, Advanced, General section.

I could have searched a while before finding this... I'm feeling a bit
lost. I am worried about the user acceptation of Office 2007...

Thanks again,

Lo
