I have lost the Outlook Express shortcut Icon no my desktop as well as
the Outlook startup under programs. How can I create a startup under
programs so that I can create a shortcut on my desktop?

Drag C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe to your desktop as a
shortcut to start with, then copy it to C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs if you want the icon to be available to all
accounts or to a specific a/c under the same Docs & Settings folder to
be available for that a/c only. If you want the desktop icon to be
available to all a/c desktops, move it to the All Users\Desktop folder
instead. This presumes the original file(s) haven't been deleted & if
they have, type sfc /scannow from the Run command & have the XP CD ready
or if that fails, do a repair reinstall of XP:

then re-apply service packs & updates.
If you have an OEM disc or recovery partition, I'm not sure.
