I got up a few days ago and turned on my computer and most of my personal
Outlook Express folders had been deleted overnight?? I have no idea why or
how to retreive them? I was told by emachines to run a restore and then told
to delete SP2. Neither worked. Then I was told to try and find them in
recycle bin but all I found it 1502 protected files with the dates of
10/21/04 and 10/22/04. Do I need to try and restore all of those files and
hope my missing ones are amoung them? Help-------I lost lots of important
information in these folders and have no idea why they were deleted by
Microsoft or ?? overnight. I have inbox, outbox, deleted, drafts and folders
to the letter E------the rest are GONE. Thanks anyone?

Try this. Get Dbxtract, you can do a Google search to download the program.
Read the instructions for the prog, it's very easy to use.Make a folder on
your desktop to extract the files to. Open windows explorer and navigate to
C:\Documents and Settings\*your account*\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\{ * bunches of #'s and letters*}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express.Paste this into the "path" in Dbxtract. Extract your In Box .dbx
Sent Items .dbx or what ever you want to recover, to the folder you made on
the desktop. When you click on one of the files it may not open. If this
happens click "open with" and then choose either outlook express or if
that's not given as an option, other program\Outlook Express and choose
msimn .exe
Good Luck
