lost files upgrading 98 to xp

Hi i lost all ,muy documents and email etc when i
upgraded from windows 98 to windows xp i was wondering is
there anyway at all of getting them back are they stored
somewhere in tempo files etc i have ghosted the drive to
another drive as a backup then formatted the cdrive and
did a data recovery and still i can not find all the
stuff and the things i do find don't open properly the
documents opoen in jiberish and the mail cannot be
imported can anyone please tell me how to get this data
back the documents are extremely important to me!

I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy with anyone who attempts a major
alteration (e.g. OS upgrade) without backing up first. If your files were
"extremely important" you would have archived them on some form of removable
media (I use rewritable DVDs) before doing anything. IMNSHO, you deserve to
lose your "extremely important" documents - let this be a lesson to teach
you good back-up practice.

A little bit of foresight can save hours of work.
