I somehow have lost the entire contents of My Documents folder. I ran
SpyBot, Adaware, and Windows Washer. I have never had problems with
these before. I then did I cany even count how many system restores
and still nothing. I have lost pictures from my daughters funeral that
I can't replace......so many many things. Please help. I was told that
I may be able to somehow go into DOS at the startup of my XP Home
version and roll the date back on the pc and that may work?? Any
ideas. Please help

You can't use system restore to bring back personal files, system restore is
for system files & settings.

You are using the same login name as before aren't you.

Certainly Spybot & Adaware will not remove your files from "my documents",
not sure what windows washer does though.

How many logins are there on your PC

about changing the date from a DOS start point ??

Did you use Windows Explorer to navigate to the directory that these files
reside in? Usually c:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents. Are
they listed?

its just the normal My Documents folder that sits on the desktop,
the path is Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents

I understand that it's the My Documents folder on your desktop. Use Windows
Explorer to navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents. Are your files listed
in there or in any other user account in Documents and Settings? Let us
know.
