Lost email messages after creating profiles

I decided to create a couple of profiles on my computer and did not back up
my email first. Now I cannot find the email messages that were in my Outlook
Express. Are they gone forever or just lost in profile-land? If they're not
gone forever, how can I get them back? I've logged into both profiles (Admin
and other) and cannot find an identity that contains the new emails. Can
anyone help me? Please?
