Lost download dialog box (open or save)

Paul

Somehow I have lost the download dialog box that appears
whenever I download a file from the web. It used to
appear for any file, now it only appears for .exe and
other "security risk" files. For other files, it now does
not give me the option of opening the file from its
website location but instead automatically asks where I
want to download it to on my computer. I download a lot
of small files (such as financial account info) and it's a
pain to delete these everytime. HOW DO I REGAIN THE
DOWNLOAD DIALOG BOX?? Many thanks!

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:

Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".
Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".
Change to the "File Type" tabs.
Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype (example :"PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation") and click the "Advanced" button.
Then check the option "confirm open after download".

Also, set the "NoSelectDownloadDir" to "0"
