Lost Desktop shortcut in Quicklaunch bar...how to get it back?

This should be an easy one, but it just doesn't make
sense. I had to do a system restore tonight for an
unrelated issue, and when it restored - I had lost my
great little "Minimize all windows and return to desktop"
icon in the Quicklaunch bar. I love that thing, but a
search didn't yield any answers on how to re-create the
thing. I tried a shortcut, but that only opens up the
folder "Desktop" - I want it to do the action of
minimizing all windows like it used to...is this an easy
one that I just can't think of??!?

TIA,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Option 1:

Restore Show Desktop Icon
http://www.dougknox.com/tips/showdesktop.htm

Option 2:

Alternately, search for the file named showdesktop.scf in your computer by
logging in as administrator. Every user has a copy of this file. Copy it to
your userprofile path here:

c:\Documents and Settings\<<YOUR USER NAME>>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Option 3:

How to Re-create the Show Desktop Icon on Quick Launch Toolbar

Doug,

I must admit, I am pretty embarrassed - I already scoured
your site but must have missed that file. I use your
scripts for every other problem that hits me and I
thought of your site first (have you bookmarked!) but
just missed the file, I guess. Thanks, I will head back
over there and get your script.

Cheers,
Rob
