Lost desktop icons,files and folders

I'm a client in a server/client network environment using
windows 2000/windows 2000 server platforms, recently I log
off my station from the server and next time I login, I
notice the all my icons, files and folders on my desktop,
including background and favorites shortcut were missing.
I'm very nervious about this situation. Can you help
please ?
 
It's an issue the System Administrator will have to fix. Your profile is not working correctly.
 
How is the network set up? Is your PC a member of a domain & do you use
roaming profiles?
