lost cd key

ive lost my sticker with my cd key the windows is still installed but needs
repairing is there anyway i can find my key in my pc?

Contact your computer manufacture with your workstation serial numbers. For
example, Dell computers have service tags numbers that can be found on the
side of the machines. Compaq, Gateway, HP, Sony, etc should have similar
tags. Using this information they may be able to help you recover this
information.

unfortunatly i built my pc bit by bit so it has no one manufacturer but no
worries the first person to reply gave me a link to a program that worked i
have the key now

that other link that says you can use it to change your key is that legal?
