Lost CD - How do I download updates now?

I have Office 2000 and apparently have lost the disc.

I attempted downloading from the MSoft, half way thru it calls for the disc.
The attempt to download has knocked out my Excel program completely.

Any ideas how to reinstall if the original disc is no longer available.
