I installed XP Pro last night over Windows ME and when the installation was
complete, my entire desktop and all my programs were wiped out. All that was
left was the recycle bin. No microsoft word, all my documents, outlook, the
whole shabang--gone. It is also choking it's toolbar on me, therefore I
can't get to my "favorites" on my "sbcyahoo" isp.

A. Can this be easily resolved and I can keep XP Pro on my computer?
or:
B. Do I have to uninstall XP, and what are the ramifications?

I hope I haven't lost all my info on my hard drive.

I'm at someone's mercy out there, because microsoft appears to farm out the
free help.

Thanks.

By design, WinXP's default desktop contains nothing but the Recycle
Bin. If you wish to create shortcuts on the desktop, feel free to do,
using the same methods you used for WinMe.
