etc.
Please help.

By design, the only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP
Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL
twice at the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.

If my memory serves me correctly the built in administrator can only be
accessed in safe mode in XP Home. If I am correct go into safe mode, login
as administrator and then create an additional password protected
administrator login for future need

Nancy;
Reboot to Safe Mode to access the Default Administrator:
Reboot tapping F8 each second.
Select Safe Mode at the menu.
Select Administrator.
From there you can change just about everything.

It may also be a good idea for you to create another account with
Administrator access.
This new account would be accessible through normal mode:
Go to User Accounts in Control Panel.
Now you can create a new account.

You should not use an Administrator for routine work.
Instead use Limited accounts and only use an Administrator when a task
requires.

Hi,

I would like to add you can also reset unknown admin password so you
can start using it. Active@ password changer tool can really help you
do it. It is a small yet powerful utility that can perform this
operation. That did helped me before.

open RUN or CMD then type the following...

control userpasswords2

This can reset ANY Account Limited or Full Administrator without the
origonal password. Try it! Hope this helps.
