Not sure what happened. I just lost my address book. I still have an
address book in Outlook express but the address book in outlook just
disappeared. Is there any way to just copy my express book to Outlook.

see if this helps,

if you go into outlook and then go to file / import and export, then select
'import internet mail and addresses'.

on the next screen you can select outlook express and wether you want to
import mail, address book, and rules; select which you want and then away
you go.

Before following Jason's advice, you'd do well to recall exactly what you
did when your address book "disappeared". Don't forget that Outlook's
"address book" is really just the Contacts folder. Do you still have your
Contacts?

No I don't have any contacts. I have nothing in the address book.
I looked in the trash can and there was a file called Gonzo's old address
book. I restored that and it just put it onto the desktop. If I click on
it it opens up and has all the info in it. But nada in Outlook. I tried in
inport the address files and once it inported 200 fields. but still nothing
in the outlook address book.

Again, stop thinking of "Outlook address book". After importing the old
book (please describe exactly how you did that, by the way), did you open
your Contacts folder? Also, please state the version of Outlook you're
using.

Brian thanks for the help. I finally got everything into outlook express
and it works. I have deleted outlook from my computer. Its not worth the
hassle. Strange that a company like Microsoft makes it almost impossible
to move the data from one hard drive to another. I installed a new hard
drive and put the old drive as a slave. Outlook was the only program on my
hard drive that I had any trouble at all with getting to run after
installing a new hard drive. Everything else was simple copy the data to
the new drive and away we go.
