"lost" address book

Windows XP, Outlook 2002. Somehow when I went from the "contact" section to calendar I erased all my contacts. When I open address book it says is empty. But when I go to send an email or search for a person i know that the info is still there somewhere. I did a search for *.pst files and have outlook and backup icons come up but I cannot open them. The service path is wrong. I am sure there is a simple way to restore address book but don't know it. Can someone help or tell me where to look for the help? TY - K

I doubt you really erased all your Contacts. What do you see in your
Contacts Folder? When you open your Outlook Address Book and look in the
"Show names from the:" dropdown, can you not select your Contacts Folder?
