After using a USB Transfer Cable to transfer my Microsoft Outlook Standard
2003 data on to my new laptop which now has Vista, only the appointment data
transferred. Unfortunately, the recurring property setting was not
transferred and I must edit/delete each one as I come upon it. There are
hundreds with no "end date". Please HELP!

How did you perform the actual transfer? What tools/apps did you use?

I used an Airlink101 transfer cable and the "Windows Easy Transfer"
program

Windows Easy transfer does not handle Outlook data well. How did you
connect your mail profile to the Outlook data you transferred? Describe the
entire process of how you performed the transfer of the Outlook data and
configured Outlook to use it.

When you connect the transfer cable, it prompts you to pick what programs you
would like to transfer data. I picked ALL the data in the Microsoft Outlook.
It instantly transferred everything from my E mail, contacts and calendar;
just not the setting for "recurring events".

Each recurrent event was transferred in the new PC for the next few decades!
Many of them are every week which is no longer true.

Recurrent events are just single entries in the calendar, with the
recurrences being calculated on the fly. So, if there's no end date, they
appear to be infinite series.

Try transferring the data manually. See this:

Sounds like there is no way to delete the "old PC" recurring events on my new
PC except to do it manually which is an infinite number of times.

I guess I'll have to create a new calendar. I've been using the new
calendar for about 3 months now. So, there's already a mix of new data and
"old PC" data.

Thank you so much for all your help and the link!

Wrong. I said that recurring event is only one single item. If you wish to
delete prior occurrences, change the start date of the recurrence.

Be more explicit in describing what you see and perhaps we can help you
understand what you do not understand.

For example, when I go to the first of the month, there is an event related
to my father. However, he passed away a few months ago and I'm unable to
delete all the recurrences. It's very hard for me to see this every month.

When I open it, there is no longer a "recurrent" setting. It's as if it was
created as a single event, but before the transfer, it was created as a
recurrent event. So far, I've had to delete each event for every month; for
this and many other events since I was the sole caregiver for my dad and
handled all his affairs; legal, medical, business etc.

Other recurrning events created after the transfer can be deleted as a
single deletion or deletion of the series. So, it's just the pre-transfer
recurring events.

Any suggestions?

If you used export/import anywhere along the way during this transfer, then
you changed the recurring event into a string of single events because you
cannot export a recurring event
When I open it, there is no longer a "recurrent" setting.

So, if you click Actions there's no "Recurrence" menu item?

View the calendar in a table view like By Category and sort by date or
subject. It should make it fairly easy for you to locate, select, and
delete all the entries you don't need any longer.
