Loss of Pictures CD-R

D

DAVID TIN

I have recently transferred some pictures from my camera
to my laptop and then burned them onto a cd-r using
Windows own software.

I know the pictures are on the disc as I have put several
different 'batches'on over the last few months.

However, the last batch that I put on were initially on
and when I have put the CD in to have a look at the
pictures all but one set of pictures are no longer on the
CD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that once on cd you couldn't lose them.

Is there any way that I can retrieve my 'deleted'
pictures?

It sounds like you've been burning a multi-session CD, and Windows is only
seeing the most recent session that you burned. I'd guess that your other
pictures are still there on the CD, you just can't see them.

The reason this is happening? Not sure, as I don't use Windows' CD burning
features. Most dedicated CD burning programs give you the option to import
the file data from previous sessions so you can see all of your files at
once.

If you download a (free) program called Isobuster from
http://www.isobuster.com you will be able to view all the sessions on your
CD and copy the files across to your hard disk.
