loss of picture

hi hope some one can help as i'm lost.when i'm using my computer the moniter
goes blank and the light flashes like there is no signal.I have had a look at
the Event viewer and it has 4 errors show all at the same time,all say the
source is acpi (whatever that is)2 say the event is a 4 and 2 say the event
is 5.something about a illegal io port i am using window xp please help.I
think it may be my graphics card but just dont know

Disconnect the Monitor from the Computer and look for any bent pins in
the Connector and also any cracks or breaks in
the cord itself. If you are so inclined open the case and remove and
reconnect the Video Card. Make sure it's seated in
the slot correctly.
