Loss of network, IP stack problems

Hi,

I've got a windows XP SP2 machine running on a home network. Roughly
every 20 hours (though sometimes longer) I lose all connectivity to my
network from this pc. Its as though the ip stack gets corrupted and it
can no longer access anything. If I open a command prompt to check my
ip address settings (ipconfig) I get an error that reads "The
application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142) Click OK to
terminate the application. Here is what I have tried so far:

Different NIC drivers
Different NIC
Different router firmware
Different router

The problem is unique to the one PC and it is driving me nuts having to
reboot it every day at random times. All other machines on my network
never experience a loss of connectivity. I have found other people
online with this issue but so far no solution.

I'd start with a thorough malware scan, including HijackThis and expert advice.
