Losing Settings for Folders

When I open a folder in Windows XP Pro, I prefer that the contents are
displayed in the "list" format (found under the "View" menu). However,
in many cases after having closed the folder after changing the view to
"list", the next time I open it, it's back in the "Tiles" format.

Is there a way to always have all of my folders be viewed as "list"?

Thanks!

The problem is that the default number of folder settings XP will remember is
too low. You can set it to a higher no. with TweakUI for XP(I use 8000) Or
Kelly has a regedit for it at her site www.kellys-korner-xp.com .

Select the List View for any folder you have open and then select
Tools/Folder Options/View tab. Select the "Apply to all folders" button and
scroll down to the "Remember each folders view settings" option and select
it.

Control Panel|FOLDERS|VIEW menu... APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS.

If it doesn't hold, visit Kelly's link below, choose "F" and scroll down
to "folder views - keep settings".

Or get the latest TweakUI for XP - it has a tab for changing the number of
folders remembered.

If so, I've never seen it. Can you point us to where in TweakUI
it is?

It's in Explorer, Customizations.

Version 2.10.0.0

Explorer/Customizations/Folders to remember

Set it to 3000 or 4000.
