Losing control of Java Virtual Machine on XP

My computer was just upgraded from ME to XP and for some
odd reason the guy who upgraded this computer also did
something to the Java because now I can't really do much.
I try to play Yahoo games and yet it won't let me. I tried
to install it myself but it says I need the some kind
of .NET 2003 program and when I try to install that...it
won't go through..please..I need some help on what to do.
Should I take it back and make him fix it for me or is
there someway I can do it myself?

To verify your version, go to Start/Run and type in: wjview
