Losing contacts and e-mails from express when installing outlook

I have been using outlook express but recently bought an HP iPAQ which has
Microsoft Outlook as the Auto Sync programme. When I loaded M. Outlook, it
deleted Express and did not transfer any data (eg Addresses). I did a 'System
restore, which got rid of M.Outlook and restored Express.
Now I've tried to re-install M. Outllok and it won't install. I thouight it
might still be lurking somewhere in the system from the previous time, but I
can't find it.
Any suggestions?
Also, Can I install M. Outlook nad transfer all contact and e-mail entries
from Express.

Export msgs from OE to OL, in OL import addresses - on the same PC.
Installing OL, in itself does not transfer mail etc from one to the other.
An installation of OL doesnt delete OE, you may have set OL to be your
default mail handler
